I worked with attorneys for years so as you can imagine, I do not trust anyone as a rule. I do not trust, attorneys, plaintiffs, defendants, judges, mediators,...

Same here--it's pretty sad how quickly they can destroy any thoughts we had about justice.

But, I am relatively unscathed, except that I do not trust many folks and I do come in handy for my neighbors and for my mom. Any problems that come up in our daily lives, I call upon what I managed to learn and hammer whomever until they give in. It usually takes one letter with my former job description noted next to my name: paralegal and from the insurance industry and poof, HMO bills magically disappear and appeals are reversed!

The worst incident of all was my neighbor's problem because Walmart took over Montgomery Wards' accounts, but they cashed the MW's customer's check but did not give her credit and started threatening her and adding late fees, etc. Walmart REFUSED TO GIVE ME THEIR FAX NUMBER. I stayed on the phone for one half hour insisting until they GAVE ME THEIR FAX NUMBER. Beware if you have a Montgomery Wards account now being handled by Walmart. I think they are investigating the situation and they did give my neighbor her credit eventually. Research is fun and helping real people for free is fun especially when I get to pressure some big company into submission; especially when they won't give out their fax number. What kind of customer service is that? WHAT A FEELING when they finally gave us their fax number! LOL
