That is the least of it, don't they can vote? They get welfare, social security, medicade, medicare, wic, and SES, from what I understand.

They can't vote for President and their Rep can't vote in the House. They have no voice in the Senate. The Northeast has a large Population because the benefits are much better there than in the Islands. If they were given independence, watch for mass exodus stateside. They would have the choice.They pay into social security same as any state and taxes collected esp. rum exports pay alot of their bills.I don't see any advantage for us by independence. The hard working and business people of course would stay.The unemployed,sick,and criminals would be on a plane fast.Also some very good people that love our Country and know how corrupt island politics are.
