,,, I'm in touch from time to time with a South African who built libraries, post offices etc as a contractor. Some of his former workers are despairing. They want it to be the way it was. He looked after them and, if problems arose, their families. The workers, by this guy's admission, worked damned hard, but they were as reliable for him as he was for them. He despair, he said, seems to be endemic now.

The old (pre-1979) joke was that one went to Rodesia to see the ruins of the grand African Nation of Zimbabwe. Post 1979 the sad joke is that one goes to Zimbabwe to see the ruins of the progress made by the Nation of Rhodesia. Thank Andrew Young and the weakling former President Jimmy Carter who allowed him to see that Mugabe and his thugs destroyed Rhodesia.

No, but individual kingdoms had periods of prosperity. They also had their little wars and disputes, wells dried up and people starved or moved on, but most were interested in money, business or just being left alone like the Masai. I can't find any pre-colonial mention of the wholesale slaughter that goes on these days.

I found them towards the end of last year. They had a guy on whining about Afghanistan. The problem? Reporters
nowadays were too whimpy to go looking for evidence, make that *stories*, of any My Lai-style massacres by US troops.
Gives yet another new meaning to the word "FAIR" as the left continues to march on. Truth and fairness are further separated.
