They speak to me in words I would not hear,
Yet their voices won't be silenced.
They beseech me with whispers.
Asking, 'why were we left?
They cannot understand.
The wind carries their questions.
The stars shine down as tears.
The moon becomes their faces.
And I have no answer worth speaking.

Since the war ended, over 10,000 reports received relating to Americans still unaccounted for in Indochina have convinced experts that hundreds of men are still alive, waiting for their country to rescue them. The notion that Americans are dying without hope in the hands of a long-ago enemy belies the idea that we left Vietnam with honor. It also signals that tens of thousands of lost lives were a frivolous waste of our best men.
I pray each day for our POWs and MIAs that they will be brought home.
Thank you my Heroes for serving our land and for my Freedom, I owe you a GREAT debt.
"I think your efforts are noble, unfortunetly I can't imagine any of those left behind still being alive. First, if one of them was found, Vietnam would be held accountable by the American people...that isn't going to happen. If they had some, they'd kill them in a heartbeat to avoid exposure. "
I think the American government has more to lose than the Vietnamese. They can always claim the prisoner was held by angry villagers, unknown to the government.
American government bureaucrats and politicians however, would have to admit they were wrong about all the POWs being released. There is a good possibility that Iraq still holds one of our pilots. After the initial news, the story was buried.
All members of our military should remember that if captured, we will do whatever is convenient and politically advantageous to obtain their release and nothing more.
