This is quite an eye opening piece. Of course, NOW, the western societies are awash in liberal political correctness.
Fox News interviewed the new head of security at the Boston airport. He was enthusiastic about teaching airport personnel screening by behavior. This would not involve ethnic looks but behavior.
The ACLU objects to even this.

Arab allegations that British soldiers gouged out the eyes of Arab prisoners were quoted prominently in the Nazi German press and elsewhere. Arabs always lie.

Combining these methods with those of Black Jack Pershing may prove useful.
The difference, of course, is that the British did not have a pro-terrorist press to contend with--and the terrorists didn't have a PR agent.

It is interesting to note how weak the British have become.
It is also worth noting that in 1938 Britain was THE World's Greatest Superpower with an Empire upon which the Sun never set.
Today Britain is an Island where the Sun never shines.

Nice post....I've read a little about the British strategy in Jenin before. Amazing how short the British press' memories are, no? The U.S. is having to deal with a situation that the British Empire stirred up and then pissed off and left when it was at its worst....deja vu...

this was before 'enlightenment'; lighten up-it's ancient history....

In the Jenin operation and on other occasions, local Arabs were forced to drive "mine-sweeping taxis" ahead of British vehicles in areas where Palestinian Arab terrorists were believed to have planted mines, in order "to reduce [British] landmine casualties." That's an excellent idea.

Sir John Shuckburgh defended the tactics on the grounds that the British were confronted "not with a chivalrous opponent playing the game according to the rules, but with gangsters and murderers." Top-ho! Spiffing riposte, eh, what?

Nice catch.
Unfortunately, it won't have bother the lefty press, who hate the whole 'Empire' concept anyway and won't recognise this as an argument.

Some things never change, eh?

In fact, they are descriptions from official British documents concerning the methods used by the British authorities to combat Palestinian Arab terrorism in Jenin and elsewhere in 1938. What would you say if Germany condemned terrorist acts against the Jews by the Palistinians, and the Palistiniasns responded by bringing up how Germany treated Jews in 1938?

This is going to come in handy! I just know it will.

There were many differences between British policy in the 1930s and Israeli policy today, but one stands out - the British, faced with a level of Palestinian Arab terrorism considerably less lethal than that which Israel faces today, utilized anti-terror methods considerably harsher than those used by Israeli forces. It didn't work for the Brits - why should it work for the Israelis?

BTTT. The Israeli's are the most chivalrous, patient people on the earth for not eradicating the Pali's. Their own aversion to being tarred with accusations of genocide is being used against them...Their response...risk their soldiers lives(and lose some) in house to house hellfighting to save every noncombatant Pali they can identify...
I salute the IDF. No sleep for terrorists...ever.
