I said they were not true Christians, but you had a problem with that. You said I was judging them "not worthy". I would be happy to find out that there was no institutionalized collusion on the part of some Lutheran and Catholic churches, or other churches, especially in Germany and Croatia. I would be happy to find out that the anti-semitic statements by church "fathers" and founders are just anti-Christian propaganda written by some enemy of the faith. But if not, nothing is gained by suppressing the information. The Bible does NOT teach that the end justifies the means. If you have some information that will back up your claims, I would suggest that posting the information would do more for your cause than the personal attacks.

I said they were not true Christians .....

That's good, then. Always a pleasure to find common ground.

..... but you had a problem with that.

On the contrary, I am delighted that we have discovered something to agree about.

I would be happy to find out that there was no institutionalized collusion on the part of some Lutheran and Catholic churches, or other churches, especially in Germany and Croatia.

Just as I would that the mass terrorization of whole populations was not occurring at the time; that Total War was not being waged; that the pagan-heathen NAZI's propaganda machine and its ceaseless spewing of lies deceits and mis- and dis-information was not being so effective; that ceaseless revisionism has not occurred ever since 1945 and continues apace -- and there was any way of knowing who said what and to whom and if words and statements ascribed to anyone and/or to any institution were ever uttered by the individual and/or by anyone connected to the institution -- and/or under what circumstances.

A clue as to whether or not the Catholic Church was institutionally involved might be gained from the fact that after the war, the Chief Rabbi of Rome -- in part as the expression of his immense gratitude to the Pope and to the Church for the massive efforts both had made to rescue and/or to save "hundreds of thousands of Jewish People" [At the cost of the lives of more than three million Catholics] -- converted to the Catholic Faith.

That monstrously bloody-evil Europeans were engaged with Hitler in his mass-murders and other Evil is not in dispute. To call any of them "Christian" is to redefine Christianity.

..... I ... suggest ..... would do more for your cause .....

I don't have a "cause" here; a dog in this fight -- or a stake in either the Catholic or Lutheran Churches.

My participation in this thread was first to point out that Fallaci ruined an otherwise very fine essay with her visciously-anti-Catholic libel and then to take on the fact that you were so ready to post the appearance of "evidence" in support of the original libel -- and of your own subsequent libels.

But; back to openers; I am glad that we have found a little common ground. Shalom.
