Policing one's self is always good policy if one does it. This reminds me of how government began sticking its head further and further into medical practice. They became increasingly intrusive when it seemed that medicine did little to clean up its own shop with respect to "bad doctors". Then they controlled the regulating agencies by threatening Medicare audits, etc.
Makes me wonder if the day will come when they try to create "licenses" for clergy with credentialing criteria, background checks, etc. Remember, there were times when it seemed they would never be involved in some of the things they are now involved in regulating. Church.....State???
