Do you think it may have been mercury switches?

Unfortunately, I don't know much about ordinance. But there's a retired General, Parten I think was his name who weighed in heavily about the OKC bombing. He did a very in-depth study of the damage to the Murrah Bldg, and he has stated publicly many times that there is no way a truck bomb placed outside the bldg could have done that amount of structural damage.

He also mentioned that there was no corresponding crater in the ground where the truck stood.

My theory is that Clinton knew in advance what the Elohim City militia types were planning, that the truck bomb would do SOME damage. He sent in black ops personell to wire the Murrah bldg with military-grade bombs, capable of bringing down the bldg. Then they used McVeigh's truck bomb as the detonation device, and also the scapegoat/cover story.

I believe clinton's plan all along was to frame the right-wing for HIS political gain. They found McVeigh so quickly because they knew who he was before the event even happened. But some of the seismic triggers didn't go off after the truck bomb exploded, and these were the bombs the rescue workers found in the wreckage.

At least that's my working theory.

Sounds very plausible. It would not suprise me in the least if that is what actually happened.

No offense, but that's just absurd. Clinton was a small-time politician who on his charisma and on the strenth of his astoundingly glib strategies and supporters alone managed to win the governorship of Arkansas. He lies, he rapes women and sexually assaults women, he manipulates, he un-hesitatingly subordinates the public interest to his own interests. However, there's no way in a few short years as president he managed to persuade professional members of our intelligence infrastructure (aside possibly from lawyer and political hack-appointees at the very top) to destroy a federal building and kill hundreds of innocent Americans all for his own personal political purposes. People would know about it. People would object and blow the wistle. NO ONE on the ground would actually go out and implement it. Certainly clinton is smart enough (whatever else we might say about this otherwise moronic apt-to-treason character) to not risk EVERYTHING on so utterly risky (and likely impossible) a venture.

Clearly he shamelessly capitalized on the tragic event, in almost uniquely clinton fashion. He may well have covered up Muslim connections to singularly villify right wing extremists. Wouldn't surprise me for a second. We give him way too much credit by actually suggesting he had a direct hand in the bombing.

My theory is that Clinton knew in advance what the Elohim City militia types were planning...

To understate, Elohim City was awash with government informants and agents.

Add to this, Dennis Mahon, the leader of EC admitted receiving money every month from the Iraqi embassy according to Steven Jones' petition for Writ of Mandamus, filed March 25, 1997.

EC should be referred to as a government operation not militia. American government? Iraqi? Or both?
