Are SAUDIS funding Enviro Groups and Dem Senators against ANWR? You bet they are.
RCM ^ | 4/18/02 | Rick Maedje

Posted on 04/18/2002 3:11:20 AM PDT by GotDangGenius

In speaking with a friend knowledgeable about the manner in which some Environmental groups obtain their funding, he told me he was ASTOUNDED that either Democrat or Republican Senators who support ANWR- and by the way there IS a majority of the SENATE that DOES INDEED support the well in ANWR, that they have not made public in the debate that the Saudis have for many years been FUNDING Environmenhtal groups in the U.S. to ensure that the U.S. does NOT become less dependent on foreign oil and that Americans are required to send our money to the Arab states.

Most enviro whack groups are now funded by "foundations"- because people just don't donate anymore to these whack case groups- and then the groups- like the Sierra Club then fund many of the NorthEastern Democrat Senators through the Sierra PAC in Senator's states awhich re not affected by environmental policy or land use policy at all, but who can be bought off by Saudi Oil money. If the Sierra CLub et al doesn't oppose American energy self-reliance or natural gas independence efforts and technology to accomplish that, the Arab States threaten the Sierra CLub with pulling their money support of the Sierra Club. Ain't complicated.

So where's the outrage? Where's the Congressional hearings? Where's the campaign Finance lambasting against these anti-American North Eastern Democrat Senators who are being bought off by the Saudis?

It was hysterical to hear Sen. Schmuck of NY the other day say Bush should open up the strategic oil reserve to stabilize prices. Sen. Schmuck should get his head checked and start refusing Saudi oil money by "opening up" American oil self-reliance in ANWR to create LONG TERM price stability.

The HEADLINE SPIN FOR ANWR SUPPORTERS TODAY should be:

Those Democrat Senators in the Northeast taking campaign money funnelled by the Saudis through environmental groups should be careful in opposing ANWR this election year.

That'll get the news cycle going nuts on ANWR... would be great. The Sierra CLub won't list it's donors... wonder why? And they mix and mash their "education" money in with their PAC money as bad as Jesse Jackson does with his own bank account of shakedown money.

Until the Dems who are receiving money from enviro groups funded by the Saudis return that money, they should abstain from voting on ANWR.

What the hell... if it was all a lie I'd still run the spin- Dems do it to the Repugnants all the time, especially lying Dasshole.

Actually, it would be almost to late, but worth the thing anyway to have some in the house call for hearings as to which Senators are receiving PAC money that is funnelled to Enviro groups in the US by the Saudis to STOP oil drilling in ANWR.

I mean the whole dam premise is "priceless"... it assumes the profit/corporate link and the sell-out by stupid Dems to Saudi Oil and puts the friggin enviro whack Sierra Dud whoops "kuckle draggin Neaderthals club" on notice to open up its book to disprove the obvious link between the Saudi's and their attempt to influence members of Congress via enviro whack groups.

The Sierra Club has been for sale to the Saudis for years, and Democrap Sinners who accept such endorsements from these bought and paid for enviralists should be put on notice in this time of unrest in the mideast and war- that the time has come to stop this nonesense and look out for the interests of the American people and not your campaign coffers.

Where's Bob Barr when you need him? where's B-2 Bob when you need him

By the way, was standing behind a house staffer at the security check-in at the Capital not too long ago- where they take you in the "trailer house" when you bring in private tour constiuents, and a young staffer was stopped with the shoe sniffing machine by the guards. The security officer asked an odd question, obviously the security person muddled up his words, but this is what the security person said:

"Have you been with anyone controversial?," and the guard eld the guy's loafer up, taking the swab thing.

I looked at the Security guard weird and so did the shoeless staffer. The kid was was kewl though. Told the Guard in a NY second before the guard could correct himself... kid said:

"I'm a staffer for Representative Barr, and yes, he has been described as controversial." -- sharp kid- even without his feet on:)

Ping...Reminds me of the various urban myths(probably some true) of Big Oil suppressing research on the 100mpg Car, and the Fuel pill that will eliminate pollution. We gotta wean off getting oil from the Checkerboard Cheesecloth heads!

Well well well...
Campaign reform, huh?

I have to admit perhaps the Libs have been way too clever? Trying to hide this source of funding?

See, this is how it works. the Sierra Club has the lawful ability to accept donations and NOT, by law (as do many other organizations) be required to provide the names of where the funding is coming from.

during the early 90's- actually it started in the late 80's, the Sierra Club has run its marketing bell curve out. so many environmental problems were solved that they lost their donor base. So they went hunting for foundation money. thing was, after the North Sea oil finds, the Saudis were sweating it out because of the North Sea Brent competition. Oil was tanking from supply, peaking in the mid to late 90's.

So, the Saudis didn't want any more competition. In fact in '95, they went berserk when ANWR was proposed to be welled up and up and running by about '99 or 2000.

Anyway- make a long story short- some in the Arab world got the bright idea to influence Congress via these enviro-whack groups and they did.

The environental whack cases get money from oil Arabs to STOP the US from providing Americans with lower energy prices AND less dependence on their product. It's that simple. It's a business decision and those in Congress- generally in the Northeast, who accept endorsements or advertising "issue ads" from the likes of the Sierra Club or the socialists in the NRDC (a real bunch of totalitarians), should be asked to refrain from voting on ANWR. This is worse than Enron- much worse.

A practical problem? Are you saying that if you wrote your Congressman, you'd be making a diary entry? Or that you'd just have to yell across the room?

;O)

In any case, Activist Cash is a starting point to see which foundations are giving to which anti-American loonies.

I also resent your implication that most of those against ANWR drilling are northeastern DemocRats. Many of them are northeastern RINOs (including a couple here in Maine) and some are west coast DemocRats.

I stand resented. There is no doubt some of the RINOS are worse than some of the Democraps. When Olympia comes down from her mount, she'll have her 10 commandments from the UN in her arms and America won't have any soveriegnty- it really does suck.

That's why I say it should be heralded sharply today--- those Senators accepting endorsements or issue ad support from these environmental groups that are being funded by Arab Oil to STOP Americans from having reasonably priced energy for the next 30 years from ANWR are going to be called on that by their opponent.

But, it is those same enviro nuts who also want to reduce consumption! This story doesn't quite ring believable. How is it that we neither get ANRW nor efficient cars? It is not democrats blocking efficient cars.

I must warn you fellows to cease and desist from attacks on the most beautiful woman in Maine, Olympia (The Goddess) Snow.

If Olympia wishes to save our environment by banning oil production in Alaska, or by requiring citizens of Maine to trap emissions from outboards, barbecues, and lawn mowers in giant, sausage-shaped* gas bags, (to be recycled as energy in Third World Countries, one of which this state is about two years from becoming) why then it is incumbent upon us to accept her superior wisdom, even at the cost of increased taxes.

I tire of explaining that Olympia Snow's wisdom is matched only by her great beauty.
*Make that 'Cucumber-shaped' gas bags. For our own good, and that of our children, Olympia does not want to encourage the eating of animal products.

anyone think to forward this to Hannity, Rush,or O'reilly,
this sounds like stuff they could put the resources on to get proof.
Or is there any hard evidence out now. If so, identify the lying scum in Congress.
I guess more than just the usual suspects.

"Environmentalist:" Rich Liberal from Massachusetts, who already has a house in the Maine woods.

Honest to Pete, I never even suspected that these pious (make that sanctimonious) clymers from the Tree Hugging Consortium were taking Saudi money!

BTW Just returned from a trip to New Mexico and Arizona. How come these Enviro-Nazis never noticed that illegal immigration is destroying the environment of the Southwest?
