"One Alderman, Dick Sayad (Ward 4), took personal umberage at the legislation, noting that he is a proud owner of three firearms and that his wife is trained and willing to defend herself when he is away." I love that line...Good article Laz.
Pendulum is moving the other way.
Yes ! The worm is turning...we need to keep the pressure on the anti's like the Ill. group did today...and keep supporting the groups that spearhead the fight...like your post last week.

We have a problem. I learned some things about Jim Ryan. He is undergoing his third bout with cancer right now. He is quite ill and this will negatively impact the campaign. That means that Blagojovich will likely win unless we work VERY HARD, and that means for 4 years, statewide gun control will be offered about 7 to 12 times every day. No CCW will be offered, and no State Premption law either.

Now are you going to tell about the "FreeRepublic dating service" stories?FreeRepublic.com should be called FreeRelationship.com. I met my future wife there, and I liked her so much, I bought the company. :o)

Woo hoo! Great job, IL FReepers!
I had good intentions........ but the usual Monday night obligations with the family came first. Thank you for representing those of us who were with you in spirit. As suggested in an earlier thread, I did make contact w/ several of the city council members to voice my opinion. (I have a semi-legit reason to be concerned about Des Plaines functions, as my kids actually train in a gym there several times a week - wink, wink.)

vocally backed by Richard Daley, the Mayor of Chicago And just where does Daley get off telling a city that he's not even a resident of (let alone mayor) what to do? I'm glad they told him where to go.
