I agree with everything you have said on this thread. From the point of view of the arabs, what Sharon is doing is an intolerable outrage. Even if Bush is not able to make Sharon back down, there is a security advantage to not having the United States be seen as backing 100 percent of what the Israelis are doing. Not only would the arabs feel less compelled to retaliate directly against Americans for what is happening in Palestine but the degree of difficulty of gaining support for taking out Saddam will be reduced. I am not suggesting the we should abandon the Israelis, just that we should keep them at arms length.

While it may not be treason in the legal sense, it does seem disloyal for members of Congress to deliberately try to undermine the mission of the Secretary of State, who is representing the President, in time of war, on behalf of a foreign power.

it does seem disloyal..... The democrats have indeed been acting against the interest of this country in their criticism of the adminstration's action in the Israeli-Palestinian war. Their thirst for power has no bounds, they will damage this countrys prestige, if they think that they can gain an advantage over the Republicans in November. They will do anything to retain their majority in the Senate by hook, or by treason. The clintons have shown the democrats the way.

Very well said! This letter is the dagger that follows her behavior on September 20, 2001 when President Bush spoke before the Nation in front of both Houses of Congress.

Ms. Rodham-Clinton couldn't even contain her rage and disgust with Bush's Winning Speech to the Nation! She rolled her eyes in disgust and sat on her hands, while the rest of Congress and the Nation stood in a Standing Ovation!

Hillary Clinton's name in the second spot in the signature line is not a mistake, it is a calculated threat.

She's making it very clear that SHE has the power to destroy this Presidency, even if she must act covertly to do so.
