I cut and paste that paragraph in my reply to PI-Matchett because I wanted him to clarify his position. Please see my #130 and #131. The reason I am trying to clarify his position is because he posted #16 which includes this paragraph: (which I reject) 1. The present-day nation of Israel is no more involved in God's plans for the future than is France, England, Germany, the United States, etc. The teaching of the New Testament is very clear - Jesus fulfilled everything pertaining to Israel and formed the New Israel, His church
yet, he claims he doesn't believe in Replacement Theology. Well, if "His church" is the "New Israel", and there is no future plan for the "Old Israel", then it is six of one and a half dozen of another.
Let me state for the record:
The assertion that The present-day nation of Israel is no more involved in God's plans for the future than is France, England, Germany, the United States, etc.IS FALSE.
The assertion that: Jesus fulfilled everything pertaining to Israel and formed the New Israel, His church.IS FALSE.
Is there going to be another physical Temple rebuilt in Jerusalem? The New Testament clearly states that believers in Christ are the Temple of God; the final view of the physical (carnal) Temple of the Old Covenant nation of the Jews was foretold by Christ to be destroyed; it was, circa A.D. 70.
The kingdom was to be taken from the Jews and given to others; it was, and now the covenant people of God are those that have their faith in Jesus Christ, whether ethnically Jewish or Gentile. National Israel rejected her covenant with God, rejected her Messiah, and ultimately rejected God Himself.
*_____ There is no special significance to the modern secular state of "Israel," which is [a] utterly contemptous of Christ; [b] is overwhelming atheistic in belief; [c] ethnically, they are German, Polish, English, Romanian, Russian, Turkish, Kazaharian, etc....but biological, lineal descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob? Biologically doubtful, theological irrelevant as regards New Testament belief. _____*
"The mark of the beast is a counterfeit for the seal of God's name on the saints (7:2-8; 14:1; Ezek, 9). The beast owns those who are marked, and they are his slaves. Speculations about a visible mark miss the main point of the spiritual distinction between the two groups" (New Geneva Study Bible study notes for Rev. 13:16 Thomas Nelson, 1995), p. 2023.
