Are these guys Pallie symps?

They sure are coming out of the woodwork lately. With all the recent anti-Jewish rhetoric, Free Republic is starting to read like Stormfront or Vanguard News Network.

Lost a bud on it myself. Jack Raper, USMC. I relieved him
aboard the U.S.S. Shangri La when he was a Cpl. and I
was a CTR3. Didn't know that Tiedke was a seal though.
Could you give me some more info on this as I think I
knew him also at NCTC Pensacola.

You mean the Elders of Zion no longer control all the world's media? Oh no! What's next, the Pope will lose control of all the world's diplomats next? Or the alien chips in our brains will short-circuit? And flouride will stop making us into good little communists?

It's a good thing everybody is against you or I'd suspect that you were paranoid -- or an Arab.

Sorry...
more immediate real and present dangers to spend energy on a 35 year old incident.
Bad time for Israeli-bashing too.

I don't proclaim to be a Liberty incident expert. I do know from my own experience the actual vessel was not worth 40M as an unequipped ship. I am as well very sorry for those killed and their survivors.

I do know this however. In the middle of a crisis of civilization against the Barbarians who have in part already breached the gate, that we do not need to feed the disunity fire at this precise time. I find it odd indeed that the historically anti-Israel crowd finds this to be the opportune time to promote this investigation. Are they hoping to garner support from European Jew haters and lefties on our own college campuses.

Odd indeed. If folks wish to re-visit this issue after the dust has settled on our war against terror then by all means have at it. But to bring it up precisely right now at least has an odor of something far more odious than truth and justice.

Yes it is! Especially with talk of sending in our troops. We don't want them going in blind.

LOL.
If there was ever a doubt in my mind about who is pushing this.
We know where your sympathies lie, funnylady.

Aren't useful idiots great?

Hey, this is a first! A Palie lover who doesn't mention the Liberty AND Pollard in the same paragraph. The Liberty was a mistake, an innocent but tragic mistake. Only an anti-semite would refuse to acknowledge that fact.

This brings back memories. I was stationed in Germany with the 4th Armored Division. The alert siren sounded early that morning. We assembled and were told to secure all of our personal items, we were heading to Israel. Reason... the USS Liberty. We stood down after 24 hours. The United States was playing both sides, Israel and Egypt. Israel didn't care for their combat plans being relayed to Egypt. They reacted in the proper fashion. LBJ had messed up again, big time.

8124 Total Signatures so Far!

Out of 300 million people in the USA. And it took 2 years to get them. What did you do, collect signatures at the National Alliance / Vanguard conventions?

America has far more pressing things to do than hold yet another congressional hearing on a 40 year old event, timed only to pile-on Israel at a time when she is fighting the same fight we are.

Hmmmm. I think not. We had a lot of "innocent mistakes" and "bureaucratic snafus" under Clinton that I and many others are not convinced were so innocent.

I really don't know if the Liberty was anything other than a big mistake, and I tend to doubt there is really more to it, but pulling this "anti-semite" crap is no way to convince anyone.

You are in the wrong.

You got it right as far as I know (and I'm not expert on it either, but I agree with your summation). Israel was at war, the USA-Israel relationship was tepid at that time. The USA had a history of stepping in to save the Egyptians who were Israel's avowed enemy. The survival of her nation was at risk.

Anyway, what would this investigation reveal? So if we find out that Israel deliberately attacked our ship, so what? Germany deliberately attacked us, Japan deliberately attacked us... but we are now close countries (if competitive) and we have spent billions to rebuild their countries. Things change, people change, relationships change and alliances change. It's not the same time, not the same people, not the same geopolitical concerns for either party. Israel apologized and paid reparations. Those are acts of contrition and the right thing to do is accept the contrition and move on.

Why not open an investigation to find out if FDR knew about the impending attack on Pearl Harbor? Heck, why not open an investigation to find out if Arafat ordered the hit on our diplomats in Khartoum?

Rediculous rhetoric. Attacking soldiers is not terrorism, it's war. Soldiers know that their job is to kill and, sometimes die.

Better find out why LBJ didn't attack Israel in response. And while you're at it, find out why he sent a spy ship out into a war zone unprotected.

When the Palestinians kill IDF troops they are called, here on Free Republic, TERRORISTS. So I think I can call the evil, cowardly, war criminals who murdered my fellow countrymen who were in service to our nation TERRRORISTS.
I support AMERICA. My loyalties are UNDIVIDED.

Slowly, one person at a time, the word is getting out about the Israelis. You don't control the flow of information any more.

Thank you for revealing your TRUE agenda, Jew-hater. Now we can ignore this trojan-horse attempt to slam Israel. 35 years ago? You give aid and comfort to those who murdered 3,000 Americans a mere 7 months ago. Shame!
