I enjoyed your rant. There are a lot of educated (along with the obviously not so educated) fools who think if they shout something long enough and loud enough it will make it so. And suppose these revisionists should win and the history of slavery is ultimately wiped fron the American consciousness? How then could we assure that it would not happen again? I would suggest that it is not so far-fetched as it sounds. Indeed, it seems to me that many of us are little more than indentured servants to the federal government as it is. And for the racist liberal blacks that are so big on "reparations" wouldn't they have an even harder time "justifying" their position (not that it is justifiable to begin with)?

Good point sweet! As I had ranted previously, My genetic line has absolutely nothing to do with black slavery and were in fact European slaves themselves at times. It is a wonder any even made it out of there. Just my grandparents as far as I know.

I wonder what it would be like if I did not know about these things, and was as ignorant as this other fellow about reality.(note: he brought God into his last rant) They must preach this stuff in their churches.

Slavery is illegal in this country. Every single person who ever had anything to do with it is long,long, dead. The republican party made sure that all the slaves were freed, and those are the facts, nothing but the facts.

Arkansas is not as southern as some. We were a border state as well and most of the fighting occured in the border states. That is why the historical significance of the confederate flag becomes even more important due the the huge sacrifices of life and property. Arkansas was on the fence about the issue for some time but when it's land and people were put at risk they got off that fence. They had many a battle in the state capital before joining the confederacy.

BTW, been to Knoxville back in my younger days. That is the first time I heard a southern accent.

In that I partially agree. Jim Crow has not ended or eroded, it merely went underground. The greatest victory the South has ever achieved is convincing Northern Liberals of the existence of the "New South".

Jim Crow ended down here in earnest. In the north it simply went underground. Places heavily infested with liberalism are the place where racial division is strongest. You would never admit to that. No liberal ever will.

Jim Crow never existed in the North, it is a decidedly Southern tradition of dividing people, and putting limits on freedoms and what they can achieve.

Much like Socialist programs, Jim Crow is a crutch for the insecure and undeserving to maintain their own status by exerting control over those who were not born into the power class.

Racial division is easily far greater in the South, it truly is a desperate attempt to argue otherwise. The only time Southerners acknowledge blacks is when they tell them not to be offended by their desire to fly the flag of a failed army. Then, out come the chains and the pickup truck.

Perhaps your vocabulary is the problem, so I won't focus on your words too carefully. Perhaps you meant to say that racial conflict occurs more in the North. I'd love to see the evidence. Then I'll show you a demographic makeup of the 2 regions.

Jim Crow never existed in the north? You must be 20 years old, getting all your info from TV. Jim Crow laws were first passed in the north, in Delaware. All the Black Codes which were passed in the Southern states after the war were modeled on those which had been in effect in Illinois, Indiana, Ohio and other northern states since before the war.

The postwar "voting rights" decrees were for the Southern states only. Northern states voted against allowing the vote for black people.

Post your demographic studies. There are now and always have been more black Americans in the South than in the north. We all get along better down here and we always have. You're saying the exact same things the liberals say about the South and you've never been here, so that makes you sound like a liberal, your odd partial capitalization of the word aside.

Back before you were born, during the civil rights movement that you've only read about, there were race riots. Every single one of them happened in states which had been union states during the war. Given your fantasy of beautiful race relations in the north, why didn't the riots happen in Atlanta, Richmond, New Orleans and Charlotte? The "Underground Railroad" terminated in Canada, not in the northern US, because white northerners hated black people.

No Jim Crow in the north? That would be funny if it weren't so ignorant. Rent a copy of the old classic movie, "A Raisin in the Sun" made in 1957. Follow the story line, then notice where the story is set. Let me know what you find out, kid. Look back over your posts and see who started with the name calling. You've had nothing to say that wasn't based on liberal propaganda, and you wonder why I called you a liberal. You certainly aren't a conservative.
