Well, yesterday I got ahold of some advil and a friends antibiotics. After about a 4 hour nap the swelling was about as bad but hardly any more pain. Today I'm still taking both the advil and the antibiotic and the swelling has gone down a little but the pain is still gone. I'm guessing the adcil is doing it maybe. Wish I would have known that from the start.

It just takes this long for the immune system to start to catch up with the bug. The antibiotics didn't help a bit, and you shouldn't be taking antibiotics just to take them, especially if they are someone else's. Antibiotics anymore are specific for certain bugs. In fact, you're probably helping select for stronger bacteria as we speak. Please don't don that again.
Most of your anelgesics (advil, tylenol, aspirin, alive, etc) will help with swelling, and therefore with pain. However, it is the swelling and pain that means your body is fighting the infection.
