Our favorite practical joke was to shout,"Alto! La frontera patrulla!" (Halt! Border Patrol!) while we were out dove hunting and than watch all the mexicans scatter and run from the bushes down by the San Joaquin or Kings river. Most farm workers are decent people, but over the years and especialy over the last decade you run into more and more drunken pentahoes out there and even more dangerous individuals.

That's a lot of the problem. Immigration from Mexico wasn't in very high numbers until the 80s and the majority were decent enough people, and they were careful too because they were here illegally and didn't want to be deported. When over 2 million came in to get in on that 86 amnesty, things began to change, many criminals and welfare seekers came over to get in on that and it's been down hill since. Everyone should look at the kind of crimes being committed in Mexico now and decide how many of those types we want ---some cities in Mexico have murder rates 8 times that of Washington DC.
