We're talking about "The Two Towers" trailer, right?
So anyway, Lisa and me went to see "Fellowship Of The Ring" this past Sunday, it having not been since opening day (when we saw it twice) that we'd caught it again. First surprise is that after almost 4 months in theaters, it was a very clean print.
But then, as Frodo and Sam are descending into Emyn Muil, as we expect to go into Enya's song playing over the end credits, instead a black card appears on the screen: "This Christmas..."
I have never cried during a trailer before. Not even for a Star Wars trailer. But tears ran mad during the four minutes that this preview ran. And how classy was that, that they put it at the end of FOTR, to show that yes more IS yet to come!
Oh Lord...
I'm no longer so stoked as I was about "Attack Of The Clones". "The Two Towers" trailer shattered every trailer we've seen for Episode II that's come out these past six months. Those four minutes showed more passion, more drama, and more humanity than most films do with around 120 minutes of time. Including a certain space opera.
Favorite scene in the TTT trailer: everything with the Rohirrim, 'specially seeing Theoden getting strapped up for battle. At the end of the trailer, when we see Gollum slinking downard, my mouth uttered a quite vocal "daaaaaaaaaaaammmmmmmnnnnn...." for all to hear. No one disagreed.
At this point, the thing I'm looking forward to most in AOTC is Christopher Lee's portrayal of Count Dooku. And only because of his Saruman from LOTR :-)
