One thing I have noticed is the missing Garter snakes. That is one habitat that we had to take out. I recall being able to go and find one in 30 minutes anytime that I wanted to as a kid. So, I guess that account for less mice and less owls, hawks, etc. Oh yeah, the ESA was a great idea. /sarcasm!
