That and these three things:
- "G-d" is a commonly-used expression in American English... and it isn't reverent!
- God Himself uses, and both moves and commands others to use, His names literally thousands of times in both Testaments, without enjoining any cutesy little ostentatious look-at-me games. Therefore
- Affectations such as this are, at best, nothing less than attempts to be holier than God.
Not that I have a viewpoint on the issue, of course. (c;
