They probably never investigated, because they knew that the majority of their constituiency doesn't want cuban immigrants comming over. Most republicans, If this incident had been under a republican administration, would have supported sending the kid packing.

I called my congressman who is a great guy (Rohrabacher) and his staff told me he was very distressed about the matter, but there was nothing he could do.
