Well you can attribute this to communism, but i think the government would have to approve the demonstration and probably direct it. Or you can attribute to freedom. Perspective is important.

War is peace. Slavery is freedom. We are at war with Eastasia. We have always been at war with Eastasia. Eurasia is our ally.

Yes, free. Free to practice demonstrations based on the Marxist Dialectic in our schools, to dedicate special days for it, no less. Good point.

Boy how did I let that one slip by, gues I'm ready for bed...

The "day of silence" in honor of oppressed gays everywhere could not be condoned more openly and enthusiastically as it would in a government run school. Essentially, it is being approved and directed by "the government." Few private enterprises could take such a bold position on something so traditionally immoral.
