"Gay Day of Silence" An Early Warning for School Boards, Parents

Today across America many schools are getting their first taste of "gay" militancy in the form of an attention-getting device mislabeled the "Day of Silence." Homosexual-identified students in so-called "Gay Straight Alliance Clubs" will wear pink gags and refuse to speak, in order to draw attention to a national political campaign to legitimize homosexuality in schools. They will spend the day passing out pro-homosexual propaganda and reveling in their power to hijack the school for their own ends. This is nothing less than ACT-Up-style street activism transplanted into the school house, but worse because students are a captive audience.

School boards and parents who have condoned the "Day of Silence" should be made aware of what will likely come next in the "gay" movement's ever-unfolding process of homosexualizing the youth. These predictions are based upon our observations of "gay" activism in the schools over several years.

1) The campus will become highly politicized around the issue of "gay rights."

Gay/Straight Alliance clubs are the invention of the politically aggressive Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN), a national organization of homosexual teachers. GLSEN's goal is to legitimize homosexuality to all schoolchildren in America. The GSA clubs serve as a vehicle to gain political support for so-called "gay-rights" among idealistic but intellectually immature future voters.

It is probable that one or more adult homosexual activists, possibly teachers, are responsible for the GSA club coming to the local school. This may be a violation of the Equal Access Act, which forbids non-student control of clubs granted under its auspices. These teachers should be identified and their activism exposed to public scrutiny.

2) Student free speech opposed to homosexuality will be chilled.

Through clever sophistry devised by national "gay" strategists, opponents of homosexuality are as cast as haters and "homophobes" whose opinions are dangerous to "gay" kids and must thus be changed or silenced. GSA students are trained by GLSEN to intimidate opponents through the use of a few carefully constructed rhetorical tricks: arguments which appear logically sound but which rely on hidden false assumptions and deliberately ambiguous terms. Other students and even most adults are not equipped to avoid these rhetorical traps.

One example is the use of the term "homophobia," a nonsense word which serves to characterize opposition to homosexuality as a psychological disorder. The use of the word is itself an intimidation tactic designed to put opponents of "gay rights" on the defensive. To prove this to yourself, challenge an advocate of "gay rights" to distinguish "homophobia" from legitimate opposition to homosexuality. What you will find is that the "gay" movement recognizes no legitimate opposition to its agenda. Thus what you thought was a term to escribe violent "gay-bashers" and hate-mongers is actually a term to lump all traditionally-minded people together as mentally ill. This is not fair debate; it is intellectual and emotional manipulation.

Other examples include but are not limited to a) arguments which assume an equivalency between homosexuality and heterosexuality (They are not equivalent. Heterosexuality describes the normal physiological function of the human reproductive system in which all male and female sexuality is rooted. Homosexuality is an objectively disordered condition that afflicts people who are by nature heterosexual.) b) arguments which give new political definitions to old familiar terms: "tolerance," "diversity," "multi-culturalism," "safe schools." c) arguments, usually incorporating the term "sexual orientation," which obscure the distinction between homosexual inclinations and homosexual conduct in discussions about protecting or respecting "gays and lesbians." d) arguments which rest upon unproved assumptions such as the hypothesis that homosexuals are "born that way." Another common false assumption is that teaching schoolchildren to respect each other requires homosexuality to b! e legitimized at school.

3) An increasing number of students will self-identify as "gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered" and/or will experiment with homosexuality.

GSA clubs provide a student peer-based gateway through which children can be drawn into the "gay" lifestyle. Children sample from life's "buffet" of possibilities, often without regard to the wisdom of their choices (e.g. tongue piercing). The more central to their peer culture is the behavioral option in question, the more likely students are to try it. In many schools "being gay" becomes a fad, especially among the more rebellious students.

Schools may face legal liability if their actions contributed to the death or injury of a child because of a sexually transmitted disease or other factors. Local "gay" activism on campus is often followed by the opening of a "Gay and Lesbian Youth Center" in the community which becomes a place where older homosexuals come to meet and mingle with the teens. Schools which facilitate student involvement with outside homosexual organizations could be exposed to litigation from parents whose children are then physically or sexually abused.

EXPOSING AND COUNTERING THE "GAY" AGENDA IN SCHOOLS

The Pro-Family Law Center has prepared a free publication titled the National Parents Advisory: The Danger of "Safe Schools." which helps parents and concerned citizens recognize and respond to the promotion of homosexuality in America's public schools.

When I was an undergraduate, I was required to take sociology as part of the so called "core curriculum". I tried 2 different professors, but both were hopelessly indoctrinated Marxists. I went to the provost, and told him that I found Marxism morally reprehensible, and ethically bankrupt. He gave me a course in the Dept. of Education as a substitute.

"calling on students to observe a "Day of Silence" to promote homosexuality in America's schools Wednesday."

I wonder if all the schools that participated in this allow Prayer in the school. When will there be a "Day of Silence" to promote heterosexuality?

There is no 'new' definition.........it's more a matter of some groups applying new words to themselves.

"When you take a small group like GLSEN or whoever and call them totalitarian you have blown their importance, positions, impact, and actions far beyond the scope of their reach."

I disagree. Besides, I made no reference to GLSEN. I simply described the practice of holding "Days of Silence" type demonstrations as something used routinely in the political indoctrination practices of communist societies like the former Soviet Union, present day Cuba and the PROC. It's a political thought exercise, designed to provoke solidarity with a victim class while simultaneously eliminating reasoned discourse. It doesn't have to be a pro gay activist group like GLSEN that uses this tool, it's also used - in many forms - by so-called "diversity trainers" employed by academic and corporate America. It's a common practice to get "diversity training" participants to somehow make themselves feel uncomfortable for the day of the training, either by temporarily switching to an unfamiliar behavior or even by putting a small pebble in their shoe (as was asked of us whan I was subjected to this training by my employer. Russian and Chinese immigrants, with few exceptions, tend to liken corporate diversity training to the "political thought" sessions forced on them in the workplace in their former countries. The common thread between the GLSEN "day of silence," corporate "diversity training," and Soviet political indoctrination sessions was "you will listen, and there will be no dissent."

Neither GLSEN nor an employer like GE (for example) could be considered corporate Stalins incarnate. But the practice of something like the "day of silence" fits within the Marxist dialectic like a hand in a glove.

Well you can attribute this to communism, but i think the government would have to approve the demonstration and probably direct it. Or you can attribute to freedom. Perspective is important.

I wouldn't recommend vows of silence for students as a form of protest, but let's admit it: homosexual students, however misled or deviant they may be, do not deserve the abuse they have to take from other students. However, teaching them how to fight back might be a good idea; f*** zero tolerance.

"This is an assault on our school system by terrorists," said Rabbi David Eidensohn, director of the National Non-Sectarian Council of Pro-Family Activists.

BWAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!

I'm sure that once you get past the admittedly extremist rhetoric of the rabbi, he has our childrens' best interests at hears, vis-a-vis normal sexuality (no, I'm not being sarcastic). However, the abuse of homosexual students, however misled they may be, by other students is unacceptable to me.

Depends on what you term abuse. Name calling and rejection, etc. is not abuse. Beating them up is abuse and I don't condone that. Name calling and rejection is called peer pressure.

Funny Ed. I contacted several of the High Schools that were listed by GLSEN as participants on your post #86 link and guess what? Not only were they NOT participating, but they didn't even know about the event. Surprised? Not me. The propaganda coming from the liars is amazing.

Sorry I'm two days late writing on this post. LibertyLass

Wow, what a paradox! I've never thought of those who reject me and call me names as being my peers. Think about it. ;-)

Depends I guess. I never thought homosexuals where my peers either. I believe if you continue to be nice and accepting they have no incentive to change.

My point was that peer pressure works both ways. It's more likely to be the straight kids with a traditional sense of decency and morality who are subject to 'peer' pressure these days, especially with NEA teachers being the ringleaders of the moral decay brigade.

The only name-calling I'd do to them is calling their advocates "Gay-istas." However, I won't refrain from being critical if criticism is called for. :-)
