BEIRUT, April 9 (AFP) - Lebanese President Emile Lahoud called Tuesday for Israeli leaders to be hauled before the World Court in The Hague for committing "massacres" in the Palestinian territories.

He urged the international community "to take the initiative and refer the authors of these massacres before the International Court (of Justice) in The Hague for trial," in a statement distributed to the media.

"Israel's rejection of (UN) Security Council resolutions calling for it to withdraw immediately from the occupied Palestinian territories ... reflects its policy of collective genocide against the Palestinian people," he charged.
