Matthew 24:32-33 says, "Now learn this lesson from
the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves
come out, you know that summer is near. Even so,
when you see all these things (Mat 24:1-31), you
know that it is near, right at the door."
You're right. But that has never stopped people from giving it a good guess!
While I do agree with that statement - I believe Jesus was also specific about our being "alert, awake", etc. He told the fisherman they were able to tell how the weather would be by looking at the sky (red sky at night, sailor's delight; red sky at dawning, sailor's take warning). Jesus said, "it has been given unto you to know the mysteries and secrets of the kingdom".
With those 2 things said, I believe as Christians, we are supposed to be in tune with what God is doing (by praying and faithfully attending our local church), and thereby, we are keenly aware of the end times. Why? So we can be ever vigilant to gather in the harvest while there is still time.
