You cannot take your pistols on your family farm in NY?!?! If I can ask, what is their problem with that?
The problem is NY state law. Pistol permits are available for NY residents, if you "service" pataki - nonresidents need not apply.
For instance, I have some nice cap'n'ball hierlooms - they are perfectly legal, unless you also own caps, balls, or powder. That's a felony.
