Just an additional comment. Much of the resistance to the takedown of Confederacy-based state flags is because of the threat that taking them down is an attempt to demonize the many men from the South who fought, bled, and died for what they conceived of as their "country." There is much to be admired among many of the "Johnny Rebs", and it would be a shame if their stories were despised and forgotten.
The majority of the people clammoring for the removal of the confederate flag are people with absolutely no idea of the history of the times, who cling to a sanitized, revisionist version of history. Same with those clammoring to leave it up.
I honestly don't care what you do with the flag. Take it down, leave it up, it means nothing to me. It is absolutely no threat to me or mine, do whatever you want.
