[history]
The United States turned up the heat on Israel Monday, demanding Jerusalem pull its troops back immediately from Palestinian territories it has occupied during the last 11 days.
Secretary of State Colin Powell emerged from a meeting here with Moroccan King Mohammed VI and demanded "a clear statement from Israel that they are beginning to withdraw" from Palestinian territories and "to do it now."

And the result of all these demands will be that Sharon will say nope (as well he should); the Arab world will continue to be an excuse machine for terrorism; and Yassir Arafat (if he is still around) after the "incursions" will go on being a terrorist who does nothing to stop terrorism.
I'm sorry but hypocrisy and empty demands, with no force to back them up, just make the guy doing them look silly.
Mr. President, honor your principles.

"
"Don't you think it was more important to go to Jerusalem first?" the king asked Powell during a photo session. Powell told Mohammed "we considered all options" but he wanted to go to Spain..."
Say the ladies are insane, there...

The other result is that it encourages the Palestinians to continue resistance as long as possible, thereby ensuring that the incursion is much longer and bloodier that would otherwise be the case.

Good for Isreal! About time they stood up to these "sell-your-sister-on-the-street" jackasses in Washington. It is high time to end the terrorism and corruption within these Arab states.

Looks like the Israelis learned the Viet Nam lesson better than we did.

Due to the difference in time zones, will the US 'now' ever coincide with Israel's 'now'?

White House spokesman Ari Fleischer said Bush conferred Monday with Powell and said U.S. envoy Anthony Zinni would meet later in the day with Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to reinforce America's demands for an immediate withdrawal from the Palestinian territories. I'm going to go home and raise my Israeli flag (purchased on a trip there in 1983).
Mr. Sharon, Mr. Powell does not speak for all Americans. He doesn't speak for me.
Sadly, neither does his boss.

I guess we know who's running our foreign policy now, don't we? It's not Israel. Arafat didn't have to do a thing this time to get what he wants. Not even a suicide bombing. But Israel must 1. stop its war right now, 2. stop building new settlements, 3. move its citizens out of "Palestinian" land so terrorists can take up better positions. Anything I forgot? Oh, and if Israel doesn't do this, is the implicit threat that it won't get replacement munitions? In other words, be left to die? Just laying out the facts clearly. I'm struggling to believe our leader is a "friend" of Israel?

Bush is really losing a lot of confidence that the American people had in him to do what is right - not what is PC!! Mr. Bush, I am so disgusted with your "convenient" attitude toward terrorism in Middle East and terrorism over here. Just be consistent. I would like to curse, but I cannot here.

James Woolsey, former CIA Director, is just now saying on CNN that the terrorists that hit NYC are part of the same big group that terrorizes Israel. Did you hear that, mr. bush (no caps. anymore for someone I do not respect).
