Item: At the Middle East peace talks in Camp David last year, Chelsea took dinner with her father and Ehud Barak, and so monopolized the conversation, the Israelis are said to have been offended. Excuse me, but what the hell is Chelsea doing inserting herself into extremely delicate diplomatic negotiations? What position does she hold in the diplomatic corps? Who appointed her? We are told that Chelsea is by far the most traveled presidential offspring in history. On whose tab? To what purpose? Did she turn down any of these junkets? Of course not. Again, it's so Clintonian — the sense of entitlement, of sneering, lofty indifference to the fact that this money I am spending has been ripped from the pockets of hard-working Americans, most of them much poorer than me, by force of law. The apple does not fall far from the tree.
Good question. Bill and Hillary both were reported to "love to travel, especially on those neat airplanes."
Those "neat" aircraft being AF-1, and the non-retired VC-137s (which were luxary 707's). The latter have been replaced by 757's at the 89th Airlift Wing at Andrews AFB in Maryland.
The awful thing is not that our Presidents have this travel apparatus--but that the Clintons abused it so.
Hillary took Chelsea on what female reporters called "Chick Trips." Reporters called them this because men (and male reporters) were persona-non-grata except as the hired help. When one Newsweek reporter complained, he was told "This is a Chick Trip you idiot!" Chelsea's "Spring Break" trip with Hillary to India cost a reported $15 million, including the costs of airlift for the limos.
And let us not forget Hillary! abusing taxpayer funded C-20 Gulfstream jets during her Senate campaign. The media covered for her, saying it was the Secret Service who "insisted" Hillary! and her gal pals jet all over New York State for on the taxpayer nickle for "security reasons."
I hope Chelsea runs up $8 million in credit card bills. Maybe then, Hillary! will have to again promise to author a book "someday" to pay for all this.
