"Was Camp Xray established at Gitmo in the hope that Castro might do something provocative or stupid?"

I think that it was a bit of an "in your face" gesture by Bush, but also, it's the one place where we can be assured that American leftie shock troops would not be demonstrating outside the fence day in and day out.

Hi Luis... it's Alex here...

Whenever I see or hear the term "Infidel" (In-Fidel) I laugh while imagining that some hero of freedom has rammed a stick of explosives into the rectal relief tube of Castro and lit the fuze !!! BOOM !!! Thereafter I suspect he might be referred to as Out-Fidel... heh heh heh !!!

"I do take care of him in my book series..."

Now, there's a book I could sell in Little Havana!

Let's get them translated!

Castro's hatred for the U.S. and our way of life have been well documented. During the 1962 missile crisis he asked Khrushchev to launch a nuclear attack against the U.S., and during the Vietnam War he sent agents to Hanoi to torture U.S. POWs. Many U.S. criminals sheltered in Cuba are on the FBI's most-wanted list, including 66 violent hijackers, murderers and terrorists.

So true! Good article. Thanks Luis.

You are dreaming, ms. Castro strictly regulates who can and cannot travel in Cuba. If we tried dumping thousands of American tourists on that island, they would wind up rotting in his prisons, assuming they weren't blown out of the water or sky on their way in. And any goods that come into Cuba are distributed as Castro sees fit. Understand this: There is no free enterprise in Cuba, and its people wouldn't have the money to buy much anyway! The Cuban people do not need to be "educated" by us in the value of freedom. They know more about it's value than we do, having tasted servitude for so long.

The way to depose Castro is to blockade all air and sea traffic to and from the island, while mounting a full-scale attack, knocking out his military installations, barracks, communications, warehouses, roads, airfields, his entire infrastructure. When he's sufficiently softened up, invade and show no mercy to any commie who resists. Occupy for as long as it takes to mop up and to help the Cubans rebuild their country.

Thanks for the flag Luis, please keep me on your ping list. I don't have as much time for freeping as I used to, but I enjoy those things that you ping me too.

Cuba desperately needs to get rid of Castro. I think that the time is getting much nearer.

There is no way of knowing what is really happening, but it seems that President Bush's "You're either with us, or with them" ultimatum is pretty clear. His speech today was about as 'no-nonsense' as is possible. And I don't think that Cuba has escaped his notice, Guantanamo is evidence of that.

I don't necessarily agree that overt military action is needed. The Castro brothers are the center of power. They don't allow anyone else to become too strong and have any chance of overthrowing them. If both were to suddenly disappear, the vacuum would be very destabilizing. President Bush has re-energized many agencies, including authorizing the CIA to perform assassinations. He also has said that they were to start using electronic warfare as well.

I think that it is entirely possible that the secret offshore bank accounts and other hidden assets that comprise Castro’s booty is possible fair game. Accounts can be traced and emptied. His fortune could be wiped out. Biological warfare is not solely the purview of the bad guys either. There are ways that the Castro regime could be exposed to chemical or biological agents that would render the freedom of Cuba without ever having fired a single bullet.

All this is pure speculation on my part. But I don’t think that Cuba is going to be enslaved for too much longer. I hope and pray that freedom comes sooner rather than later and that the people of Cuba will adapt well to the sudden introduction of the modern world into their lives.

"I sent it along to friend's daughter who is considering a student tour of Cuba."

It's not a good time to be doing that.

"How are you,my friend?"

Doing well, the kids are growing up too fast, and they seem to have endless energy...

Maybe I'm just getting old.

I hope all is well with you and yours.
