Has anyone counted how many people in pain suffer due to the Drug War versus the number of addicts? It is very possible this matter alone makes the Drug War counterproductive.

The article is completely wrong. Valid treatment for pain almost never leads to addiction. Patients quit without a second thought if the source of their pain is removed.

The Drug Enforcement Administration suspects OxyContin abuse in 300 or so deaths...
