1) Pray for the bishop before you write.
2) Tell the bishop how important it is to you that he is a successor to the apostles;
3) Thank him for exuding a good an holy character -- which the faithful need to see in a bishop.
4) Tell him that there is great confusion over pro-abortionists receiving the sacraments of the Church;
5) Ask him to speak out with apostolic clarity so the confusion can be put to an end -- since confusion does not come from God but from the enemy;
6) Assure him of your support if he would make a declaration that pro-abortionists and others who undermine the teachings of the Church may not receive the sacraments;
7) Specifically ask him to call Gov. Davis to account because if the high and powerful need not follow the teachings of the Church why should the ordinary Catholic follow anything a bishop says.
8)Close by thanking him for being your bishop, and promise to pray for him daily.
Those are my suggestions. Feel free to use any or none. And God bless you, Gophack, for taking the time to write to your bishop. What you are going to do is very important.
