The only way to put the US back to the point it should be is to take the voting power out of the hands of most the people. Before I'm flamed about this consider that the most powerful lawmaking group in the country is controlled by special interest groups and mindless sheep who vote for their Senators. The original Constitution had a buffer between the Senate and the people, that of the state legislatures. The Founders realized the power of the Senate and that the average citizen of the states would not be able to make a decision concerning the entire country wisely and without feeling.
Alas but the 17th Amendment overturned that and we have what we have now. A group of men that appeal to the masses and whoever has the most money in their pockets
