Actually, there are about one hundred million people on each side of the Constitutional debate regarding individual rights versus big government. Remember the county by county election map from USA Today? This map suggests that a peaceful geo-political division of the United States is possible long conservative-liberal lines.
I disagree. First, I wonder how you reconcile the fact that Robert byrd, Tom Daschle, to name just twosenators, come from the vaunted red zone. Second, if certain regions of the country are so reliably conservative, where are their governors and state legislatures? They are intended to be a check on the Federal branch within the system. Where are they?
Last, the electorate was split nationally urban vs rural. No way to separate them out. and it's just a dumb idea.
