It served to to create the massively funny Visa Check commercial where the Pittsburg Steelers PA guy couldn't buy a copy of "Who Let The Dogs Out?".

Minnie Riperton wasn't just a one-hit wonder. She had a followup hit called "Inside My Love" that hit #76 later in 1975. Some might laugh but then most never made the charts at all. Minnie died of cancer when she was just 31 years old back in 1979. She once sang backup vocals in Steve Wonder's band and she was lead singer of the R&B band called Rotary Connection, who had a minor hit called "Want You To Know" back in 1970. It peaked at #96 that year.
