Actually, at night, the temperature in Lori’s high-altitude Peruvian prison drops well below freezing, and she has only a thin, ineffectual blanket to keep her warm. This would certainly qualify as cruel, if not unusual, punishment.

I was under the impression that he was an American citizen being tried in the American court system.

He clearly has no desire to be an American, he should be treated like all of the other taliban members, and shouldn't receive any special treatment because he used to be an American. I don't even like to see him referred to as an American.

Nope. You forgot that he never identified himself as an American when he was captured. They only found out about it during the interregation and then had to recapture him after the prison uprising in the drainage area.

It would be pretty smart if his lawyers stopped trying to defend him. After all, if he gets off, there is nowhere on this earth where he'll be safe.
