He's trying to pit you against your own brother, and he's trying to encourage you not to defend a friend from his unfair and grossly hypocritical attacks

She was caught trying to hold me to a standard that she hasn't applied to her own family. She questioned my faith and parenting ability. I simply pointed out that she holds members of her own family to a different standard. Though Northpaw's joke was funny, one would think after reading all of this that she would have been offended by it, but she's not (blinders). You on the other hand, like to character assassinate calling my images and comments "pornography". You opened that box, not me. I simply stated that you were being hypocritical against someone that cursed when you had yourself...plus, I thought I had become "invisible" to you remember?

BTW, maybe I need to spell it for you "S-E-E-K....H-E-L-P". I'm sure after a few treatments South will come and visit you.

Of course, maybe you think that there are "degrees" of cursing that are acceptable in the forum? But, that's where this started. You took up the gauntlet after I posted the reason cursing was a sin. Now, he just makes jokes about "animating the hands" on his graphics of nude men, delivers stale puns using the word "coming", and posts pictures of animals having sex. Define "cursing". I think you're confused. If you are referring to the term "rat's a$$", that Daughter used, you are incorrect. If that is cursing, your remarks and innuendos are something far worse.

Another underlying agenda I think I have is to just be real. If God can change me, He can change anyone. Being real allows more of a probability that God can illustrate something redemptive with this poor prop. Of course, many observers don't see enough of the drama to learn anything useful.

If I happen to hear or see something funny, I'll laugh. I may blush afterwards but my response has been authentic. If I think a joke is crass and exploitive more than funny, I may say so. I certainly don't prefer that any of us treat wonderful aspects of human creation as crass objects to be trashy with. But I could probably act or sound more congruent with that value a fair number of times.

Perhaps, VERY PERHAPS, from another perspective, I believe we are going to see very horrid acting out on the streets, in the parks in broad daylight fairly common place if God leaves the Church here long enough.

Our righteousness is really going to have to be a function of HIS BLOOD AND HIS CHANGING US WITH OUR COOPERATION. Pulling ourselves up by our boot-straps and trying to make ourselves holy just doesn't work. Doesn't mean we ought to throw in the towel and rush out to over do our quota of sinning. It just donned on me that this might be the essence of his problem. He might actually be incapable of understanding the difference in your ONE silly comment, using the word a$$, and his ongoing attachment to sexual innuendo and graphics. How else can it be explained?

Okay, first, I don't curse. Even when I shut my hand in things, I don't. I don't think I have ever cursed in the forum (feel free to check me out, and I'm sure you are hard at work reviewing every post I've ever made, hahaha). I called Daughter on her berating another forum member for cursing. Period. That's it. I have never said I was a saint in the forum, but when Daughter decided out of her own rationalization, called someone out over their cussing I told her "pot, meet kettle". You decided to take up her offense out of some sort of unseen loyalty to her (possibly pity because she has no friends?). Then low and behold I remember your brother's off color joke (no pun intended) and I thought it funny that you had one standard for me, and another one for your very own brother. I mean you questioned my relationship with God and my parenting ability remember? Yet, your very own brother has "crossed" the very line that you drew. This entire "argument" originated over Daughter's very own hypocritical approach to cursing. Of course, if she seeks help, she may be fine in the future.

I'd agree with that, and when Daughter called the other poster on the carpet for cursing when in fact she had done so herself I just popped in and said so. She and her buddy have escalated this to a point where they even tried to malign my character from a legalistic point of view. You are right.

You should never talk about someone not having friends. I can't believe the number of freepers that have written you off since your extreme personality change after 2000.

You may not be aware, but it has been discussed privately amongst quite a few people and not just those of us who regularly tangle with you.

You are also unaware of who has friends and where. You make a big mistake with your many assumptions about people you do not know.

I think we have an inadequate appreciation for the costs of judgementalism. We are just asking for God to pull back the protections in place against our doing ourselves in by one means or another. If He pulls back the protections, we can humiliate ourselves very quickly and exceedingly horribly. . . THE BEST OF US CAN. . . often enough in the worst of ways. It's the nature of being human.

And only God can change our hearts. And He usually requires a lot of cooperation and humility on our parts over a significant length of time.

I just don't see any substitute for humility, compassion, brokenness, Love. IF YOU SEE ME OUT OF THOSE PRIORITIES, YOU NOT ONLY HAVE MY PERMISSION BUT MY REQUEST TO KNOCK ME DOWN A FEW OR A LOT OF NOTCHES HOWEVER YOU HAVE TO, TO GET IT DONE. Every time the early Church resorted to the letter of the law, deadliness rushed in. The same in the modern church. License is not the only alternative. Compassionate helping bear one another's burdens and helping stand in the gap for one another and watching out for each other's weaknesses is the order of the day. And too few rise to it, in my view.
