I have to believe that the decisions to let the Palestinians to twist in the wind has little to do with favoring one side over another on idealogic grounds, and more to do with fear of the kind of war the Palistinians have unleashed.
Aside from geographic isolation, we in the U.S., as an open society, have little defense against the kind of tactics the Palis have adopted - human suicide bombers. If this tactic succeeds in Israel, it might come to our shores one day, and that must not happen. The U.S. will rightfully do everything in its power to make sure that this method of waging war is seen as fruitless and counter-productive.

If this tactic succeeds in Israel, it might come to our shores one day I believe it already has. There were 19 suicide bombers on those airplanes on 9-11. Three of four managed to hit their targets. All killed innocent civilians.
Our response has been more forcefull that we allowed the Israelies, at least until the Passover Seder bombing. I think that one pushed our President right over the edge.

The seed has already been planted in the Black Muslim movement; so it is not the Middle Eastern 'sleepers' that need worry us, they will have a hard time moving. But the black Muslim will cause a problem after all HOPE for reparations money has been dashed!

Rush was making the same point and was quoting his wife and Thomas Friedman. But the tactic came to the US. Suicide bombers hit us on 11 Sep. We're hitting back. Israel is too. See how the Arabs and the Anti-Semitic Socialist in Europe like it. Self-defense is wrong in their eyes. To them a good Jew is a dead Jew, apparently, just like Arafat thinks.

Open societies cannot really stop them. Before long, we'll be blackmailed for all manner of things by suicide bombers.
