The safest and easiest way to remove bugs and viruses from your hard drive is to remove the drive and put it into your microwave oven.

There is a key to doing this properly. You must first program the microwave for 3 minutes at defrost and then blast the drive for ten full minutes on High.

Even better is the method I use.
First, you need an AC power cord. Cut one off a broken appliance, or go to radio shack and buy one (they sell them with stripped ends, that's what you want).
Then you need a 5.25" drive power plug. This can be obtained either from a dead PC power supply, or a 5.25" drive Y power splitter.

Now you should connect the red/yellow wires of the 5.25" drive power plug together, and connect them to one wire from the AC power cord.

Connect the two black wires of the drive power plug together and connect them to the other wire from the AC power cord.

Now you should plug the AC power cord into a convenient wall outlet. If the circuit breaker trips, unplug the AC power cord and reset the breaker. Repeat until the breaker no longer trips.

There you have it, the sure-fire way to solve any virus problem.
