Yeah, I've read a lot of those but the visual image of putting a gun to the head of an infant or 4-year-old child discouraged me from supporting such a view. Neither would world opinion, already against Israel, support such deliberate actions (in spite of the fact that they support suicide bombers killing whoever is in range).
I feel so strongly about my suggestion that I even e-mailed it to Sharon (although I forgot to mention the part about converting the youngest ones to Judaism). I know it would not solve all their problems, and may not even be possible, given the intel required to locate these families. Since they haven't yet changed their tactics, I can only assume that either they have more important things to do than read e-mails from the backwaters of Tennessee, or they do not think it viable. It would be nice if I could get enough FReeper support to flood their e-mail system so that someone would eventually consider the possibilities.

On other threads, there is discussion of wiping out the families of terrorists.
I fail to see how you could deincentivize a suicide bomber other than by making the entire family a suicide bomber, by killing mom, pop, sis, bro, son, daughter, grandma, grandpa, aunt, uncle, cuz, etc.
My guess is the family may not be as enthusiastic about little Al-Johnny becoming a cruise missile, if they knew that within the month, they would have their tongues hanging out of the middle of their necks. If the families and community did not encourage this behavior, my guess is that it would wane in a very noticable manner.
It would also save innocent lives, although "innocent" would have to die to make it so.
No one in politics has the stones to see it through.
