All that was in my Easter basket was a lump of coal!

Click on the group shot pic above and look at the tee-shirts Angelwood and Takoma are wearing - Registered did us real good with his design. BTW - I got two lumps of coal - I was better than you this year.

As background: Sauropod brought the Culpeper Minutemen flag to the FR counter-rally in NYC on the 2nd of February. Later at the post FReep dinner the decision was made to sign the flag with our FR handles and/or names. We will have the flag on the 20th of April and then send it out to our fellow FReepers who are holding the line against the anti-American crowd - coast to coast. It is a "personal" way of saying I was out there and I belong to a very large body of patriots nationwide. Kind of brings us together even though we cannot all be in the same place at the same time. Eagles Up!

So how did the planning go, or do we have to wait for dales approval?
To: Dave Dilegge
I spied those good loking chicks and tee shirts right away. Sorry that family obligations conflicted. Thanks to the gang for all the hard work.

I arrived at the Pentagon memorial knoll probably within 5-10 minutes after you, sauropod and BufordP left. That's why I was late for the meeting at Bennigan's, but it was difficult to leave yesterday.
It was a gorgeous spring day with the sun shining, a slight breeze and temperatures in the high 60's. The numbers of visitors to the memorials were high -- 75-80 at times. People visit because they want to see for themselves the area of the Pentagon that was attacked and they spend time reading the messages left under the trees. Since there have been only sporadic stories about the memorial site itself, most visitors come on their own or because they heard about it from someone else.
I spoke to many of the visitors. One couple had been to the Pentagon repeatedly over the last seven months to pay their respects and watch the phenomenal reconstruction effort. The construction crews work 24/7 to repair the damage to the Pentagon and their progress is evident each week.
I spoke to another couple and their four children for quite a while. They were from New York City and live very near the area devastated by the terrorist attack. The wife and mother told me that everyone living near that area had trouble with their voices for a week after the devastation. People, this family included, have developed colds that never seem to go away. All of them were coughing a little while I was talking to them. Her descriptions of conditions so close to the dust and fires was vivid and she recounted how many of the victims of 9/11 her family knew and missed -- a teacher, firemen, policemen, relatives of the children's friends and the list goes on.
I told her about the memorial we've been maintaining for BCM and BKO. For the third week in a row, the placard we left with Barbara Olson's photo and details about her was missing. The one for Battalion Chief John Moran was still in place next to the flowers left the week before. The flowers still looked pretty good, but tgslTakoma was planning to put fresh flowers at the site after our meeting and she and Kristinn did that.
The New York lady told me about the massive amounts of items left all over New York City in memory of those who died in the WTC attacks. She wasn't aware of items being taken from those sites.
The family felt the need to visit the Pentagon and see the area of the attack for themselves. It was very different from what happened in NYC and they were amazed at how low the Pentagon is and how low the plane had to fly to hit it. The damage here was contained in a fairly small area and in NYC buildings fell or had to be demolished -- 8 buildings in all.
I enjoyed talking to this family so much that it was difficult to leave for our Chapter meeting. I hope they enjoy their visit to D.C. and have a safe trip back to Ground Zero.

A Patriotic Bump and a Happy Easter to All.
I was in Costco yesterday exchanging socks that I purchased to send to our sailor. After I told the service desk lady they were for the troops in Afganistan she said "I would not send them anything". I thought I had misunderstood her so I said they were for our troops. She said 'I don't believe in war and I would not send them anything'. After I asked her if she would do nothing even after we were attacked, she still said she would send them nothing and she did not belive in war. I left after telling her I did not believe we could just sit down and let them continue trying to kill us.
My husband and son said she was probably one of the pro-terrorists who stand on the opposite side of the street from us every Friday night.
God Bless our Military and God Bless America.
Happy Easter Everyone!

Question: Will the blossoms still be on the trees next week-end?
To: Dave Dilegge
Happy Easter to you too, Dave.
Bump.

Depends. If the focus is on protesting the far left and advancing conservatism, they have my approval no matter what, and my participation as long as others don't go out of their way to make me feel unwelcome.
If somehow the plans involve bringing in people that think that white power is the way to go, then they really don't need my approval, but they shouldn't be surprised when I object.
I am sure Dave just LOVED you bringing that back up.

Even though the pic was just one of two hard-back HUMVEES I pulled the pic because I labled it Pentagon Security. Hope everyone's Easter is going well.

C'mon Dales, if you read Dave's rally4america page, you would know exactly what our goals and motives are. I am disappointed that you have brought something negative (and non-germane) into the public forum. Nobody said a single thing that could justify the "If somehow..." response. I'm not at all sure what is motivating you at this point; and I don't care to know.
This pro-America, pro-US troops, pro-freedom rally is more important than any one person or personality; and, with all due respect, I would appreciate it if you would withold posting any more negative musings. Please.
I thank you and the rest of the DC Chapter membership who are working to give everyone a great "Patriots Rally for America" also thank you (in advance) for trusting that we are good and honorable people who do the right thing (even when nobody's watching).

Go read this before you start chastising Dales:
