Another day in paradise -- Florida.
One of my favorite success stories of FL entrepreneurs involves a former substitute teacher and her interior designer sister-in-law. Together, they created a clothing business which has just taken off and been very successful. They are based in Panama City, FL.
Also -- I am waiting to see Senator Clinton improve upstate NY's depressed economy, as she promised she would do when she ran for senator.
Finally, in 2008, I predict the economies of two states -- FL and NY -- will play a major role in determining which party will win the WH.

Summer, I am less enthusiastic with regard to foreign trade than Bush, and you. However, I do believe that Bush is a good Governor and is an active advocate for his state and people. Thank you for flagging me to this topic. Nice post.

You're lucky you got Jeb. Ben Cayetano our Governor in Hawaii has traveled the planet with large retinues at taxpayer expense, and he's gotten us squat.

Thanks, DoughtyOne. If you don't mind me asking, I'm curious what is it that dampens your spirits about foreign trade and attracting foreign business to FL? I'm just curious to understand. There is a lot of foreign capital in FL already, and a lot of foreigners already doing business here. (Gov. Bush also wants more e-business here from other states, so just know he is also interested in getting more US businesses to relocate here! )

LOL...what party is your governor in?
BTW, though the situation is now very different, I seem to recall GW was not much on international travel (while he was governor of Texas). But, his brother, Jeb, is very different in that respect.

Correction in my editorial:
"...2001 Ft. Lauderdale Sun Sentinel -- "Bush touts trade with hemisphere for FL firms." In said article, it was noted that...."
I was thinking "Ft. Lauderdale" Sun Sentinel but I originally wrote "Orlando" by mistake - sorry!

Also -- I am waiting to see Senator Clinton improve upstate NY's depressed economy, as she promised she would do when she ran for senator. Methinks you will have a looooooooooong wait. The only good thing about the junior Senator from New York is that she in a failure at everything.

Well, for the people in upstate NY, I am sad to hear that. The economic situation up there has been so bad for so long. And, she took all that time to travel in that region to get their votes. I still hope things improve for those people.
