some of the customizing advantages are pretty kewl.

If we could customize things like font size and color for different parts of the user interface (or at least choose between old layout and new layout), I'd agree with you. The new layout is very hard to read; fonts are too small, headlines don't stand out as they should, and so on. The old layout was perfect.

There are technical aspects of the new site that are superior, so I'm certainly not suggesting throwing away all the hard work that went into it. It's nice to be notified when there are new comments to you, for instance. And the idea of customizable sidebars is good.

But the new layout just isn't very useable. [Maybe I should have used the beta more, but I tried it out twice and the style so much harder to read that I didn't go back. I mistakenly assumed that some font size customization, at least, would be added before the new FR was brought into regular service.]

Jim has promised me that he intends to impliment Style sheets into the site like we had last year. Im assuming he will make available templates to choose from or share with other users and even make your own to upload. If anything this site will eventually teach the unteachable on CSS and HTML. Not ALL is lost!
