There is certainly a lot to be angry about. Many of us saw this coming during the Republican Primaries in 2000. But the Party hierarchy, big bucks, name-brand-daddies and RINO tradition prevailed. Now where is there to go???

Get ready for the Loyalists' cries of "political naivete."
It's always someone else's fault when the hero screws up and creates division and distrust.

sinkspur, it is a well thought out piece, even if you disagree. why not attack it in a debate fashion? I am sure there are some who care about it. C'mon, old friend, give it a try.

I have read some of the articles and some of the posts these last few days and I think the statement "nobody cares" is not entirely accurate.

OMG. Colonel Dan has bolted again! We might as well just close shop and dissolve the Republican Party. LOL!

The Colonel is a man of courage and conviction.
A man who refuses to compromise what he believes to be right.
I expect many here to commence putting the bad-mouth on him immediately.

nobody yet here can refute or challenge the poster with substance, in concise, unemotional tones. its just the usual mudslinging; maybe folks are late for work and can only post a line and run. I don't know. I think it merits wider academic debate.

I don't see how running away can do anything to correct the proplem. It seems that most who leave the party were sitting on the sidelines watching the party deteriorate, if they would all get involved, we could take the party back from the RINOs.

These Bash Bush/Repulican post have increased in numbers over the past several days. (If I was paranoid I would think there was a group like the "seminar callers" that infected talk radio that have found a new tactic).
If this poster is serious, debate is not going to change his mind. If as I suspect, he is nothing more than a disrupter, debate is not going to change his mind.
So what is the point?

I'm sure my Dad, Colonel Tate, fighting for our freedom in WWII didn't give up this easily...God Bless America! Colonels don't seem like the pouting type.

Good points sir. Stand up for your principles as a good officer. When you first discovered that SNAFU was normal why didn't you resign your commission then?

... giving government the power to install the carnivore e-mail snooping system without a court warrant. ...Under a Republican administration, airport security was federalized and Gestapo-like screening tactics implemented
One less kook in the Republican Party. DLTDHYOTWO.
