And another attack, this one inside of a synagogue:

(07:50) Two dead in Gaza Strip knife attack
By The Jerusalem Post Internet Staff

Two Israelis were killed in an attack by at least one knife-wielding Palestinian terrorist in the central Gaza Strip community of Netzarim a short time ago.

The terrorists apparently broke into a synagogue during early morning prayers and began stabbing worshippers, Army Radio said.

The terrorists fled, Channel 1 Television reported a few minutes ago.

Large IDF contingents are moving house to house in the settlement searching for the terrorist.

The Jerusalem Post Internet Edition will update this report as further details become available.

Female suicide bomber blows herself up at Jerusalem supermarket, dozens injured, police say.

JERUSALEM, Mar 29, 2002 (AP WorldStream via COMTEX) -- A female suicide bomber detonated her explosives at the entrance to a Jerusalem supermarket on Friday afternoon, killing herself and injuring dozens, police and rescue workers said.

There were unconfirmed reports that at least one person was killed in addition to the bomber.

The blast occurred at a strip mall in Kiryat Yovel, a working class Jewish neighborhood in southeastern part of the city.

"I got there two minutes afterwards. It was a horrible scene," said Moshe, a witnesses who spoke to Israel Radio. He said two dead bodies were at the entrance, apparently those of the bomber and a guard who tried to stop her.

"I understood that the guard did not let the terrorist in, and they were blown up together," said Moshe, who gave only his first name.

Another witness, Hanna Cohen, said she was about to enter the store when there was "was a huge blast, and I saw people flying all around, arms and legs."

Dozens were hurt, including many inside the supermarket, according to police and rescue workers. "There are many casualties," said Yeruham Mandola, spokesman for the Magen David Adom rescue service.

Israel Radio said the Al Aqsa Brigades, a militia linked to Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat's Fatah movement, claimed responsibility.

Palestinian militants have carried out dozens of bomb attacks during the 18 months of Mideast fighting. There have been about 50 suicide bombings during the Palestinian uprising, and Friday's attack was the second such attack carried out by a woman.

EDs: UPDATES with police saying bombing was carried out by female suicide bomber.
