Bring back the battle ships!Yeah, artillery shells are cheaper than cruise missiles by a mile anyway. Just hook the DDX's advanced targeting system and modify it to work with 16 inchers instead of 5 inchers and you have one or two hundred miles of range (estimated based upon the fact that the ATS gave a 5" gun a 60 mile range, which I do not understand to be near its normal range).

How about replacing the warhead on an ICBM with a 10,000lb (or whatever the max weight would be) hardened steel/depleted uranium penetrator?
Five tons screaming in from outer space should have one hell of an impact on anthing it hits.
