I know there are people here who disagree with the President's positions on this. Some of my longest friends on this forum were upset. That is not what I am talking about.
I am talking about a large group of new posters who showed up just as the bill was to be signed.
Just like the bunch of new people that showed up when the China plane incident happened. Or stem cell.
Well, I think there are pepople upset about this, and I also think there are people who are gleefully PRETENDING to be upset. When I hear Mara Liason concerned about how conservatives are upset about this, I smell a Rat.
Of course there are opportunists, and no doubt some will attempt to exploit this for electoral purposes -- it was ever thus. Normal politics. But there's no percentage in confusing the behavior of such opportunists with the merits of the issue, which need to be debated. And as I said, ultimately this issue won't determine a single race.
