In addition to the Upper Basin proposing to use our mid-Klamath farm areas and water as mitigation for Klamath Project impacts on coho, we face a California listing of all coho north of San Farncisco. The DFG makes it's recommendations in April and the CA Fish and Game Commission makes its listing decision in June.

If listed, pressures will be applied to wrest waters to increase instream flows from agriculture in our area. There will also be permitting barriers for some of our traditional methods of water diversion.

We have a website on this here

Additional complications are current status review of the federal coho listing. The Grange suit on the federal coho listing. A statewide proposal to regulate some groundwater usage in California. Fast approaching water quality standards to be imposed for water temperature, sediment and low dissolved oxygen.

What can you do? After the Dept. of Fish and Game releases its recommendation, write the fish and Game Commission and ask them not to list on the basis that there is insufficient information to support listing.
