Thanks, illstillbe. I know you took this CFR decision hard, and I appreciate that you are able to separate the good from the bad. Personally, I still want to know how McCain got those Republican House members to sign the discharge petition, which is how this whole thing wound up being voted on. No one is paying attention to that, and I think when things calm down we should try to find out about this.
Now, I will add a few things I like, that I may have missed reading:
Hired an elegant speech writer, who is able to incorporate memorable phrases (We shall not tire, we hall not falter, we shall not fail).
Uses vernacular English to great effect. (show me the money, wanted dead or alive, Not going to fire a ten-million dollar missile to hit a camel in the butt)
Appears ON TIME, which is considerate for all those waiting to see him and also for his security people.
Redecorated the Oval Office with TASTE.
Owns and operates a chain saw. :-)
Loves his land.
It was more than just the discharge petition... Nearly 100 congressmen voted for it along with 11 senators...
Thanks for the thread and hang in there. Most of my life has been looking at the glass as half full because life is not nirvana. With president Bush my glass is more than half full and that is sweet because with our prior experience the glass had only bile left in the bottom...
