Yeah, you do. Bush has an obligation via his oath of office to act as a check on the whims of Congress. Why do you think he has the veto power?.For the President to knowingly sign un-Constitutional legislation is a violation of that oath.
I don't care what the result of the pending court cases are, I will not vote for anyone who plays fast and loose with my freedoms for political purposes. Bush should be a one term President, and if the world was right, he would be removed from office.
You had better pray that Sandra Dipstick O'conner suddenly gets religion. Thanks for supporting a decision to be made about my freedoms by this bunch of pantywaists on the USSC.
What planet were you living on when the issue suddenly got legs in the house. You couldn't have missed the news reports.
Or maybe you did see the reports and just refused to believe them..."Bush pressures house leadership to approve CFR".
Are they going to throw people in jail because an opponent critized the incumbent in a electoral race?If they're not the media, you nailed it on the head.
You dont dont control the Senate with 51 votes.Tell that to D'Asshole. He's very-ably controlling the Senate with 51 votes. It's leadership, something that the RINOs (other than McConnell, is there any other kind in the Senate anymore?) sorely lack.
I have never heard of a Republican winning an election by becoming a Democrat. Reagan didn't cave before his re-election, the Republican House didn't cave when they won in '96.
If the stratagy for Nov. is to become as much like your Democratic opponents as possible then Bush is doing a very good job. I don't think it is going to win any elections though.
And just what brilliance will you demonstrate for this one?
My prediction for when the McShame/Slimeroad/Shames/Noman Conservative Elimination Act is declared constitutional; 2005 on its second attempt.
Return To Sender!!
Freedom of Speech, the First Amendment to the Constitution,,,,,,,George Mason wouldnt even vote for the Constitution withough it, and the 9 others known as the Bill of Rights,,,,,,,,and indeed our Constitution isnt worth the paper it's written on without the Bill of Rights.
THIS MINOR ISSUE EH,,,,,,,,EGAD!!!
Other than CFR which had sixty votes, he is not getting huge majorities. Most bills are passing after compromise. Daschle is only effective at preventing our agenda from coming to a vote. Thats playing defense which is what I said earlier, you dont need that many solid votes to play good defense. Forty will do.
Amen. That's the typical comment. It'll be the mantra you hear when the jackboots are on your neck, I'm sure. "Well, you COULD have had Gore!"
compromise-the act of Republicans abandoning 85% of their principles on any given bill.
Seriously, as long as a RINO exists in the Oval Office and Trent Cave-A-Lott is the invisible minority leader (a role for which he is uniquely qualified), all D'Asshole needs is 51 to vote his way because there'll never be 41 RINOs with enough backbone to actually use the filibuster.
...rationalize out of this lol
Remember how the anti-gun types killed the bill? We do the same thing we did then. Take a weaker version, offer it up, tack on three or four poison pills, and the anti-gunners will do the thing in.
