And also the last time I looked.. Bush was not a libertarian. Sorry to disappoint some of you out there. Republican does not always equate to conservative, and it never has. It is more conservative than the Democratic party, and in some respects moreso than libertarians... So, when you vote, you vote for the one closest to your positions... staying home is silly. Besides, who gives a rat's patootie about CFR anyway? Besides McCain, and a few others, we all know it doesn't change a thing. While the FEC may have expanded powers now, we all know they don't bother to enforce any laws already on the books vis a vis Clinton in 1996. So, you can whine all you want about the Bill of Rights, but most of you complainers would love it if we could cut off liberal speech entirely, regardless of the 1st amendment. I for one feel the SCOTUS will strike down the advertising ban, but uphold the rest of it, including the soft money ban. Money is not free speech. The Repubs will benefit as they are better at raising hard money. And if the ad ban stays in, that ain't too bad.. keeps the ACLU, Trial Lawyers, Unions, Sierra Club, Teachers Unions, and NAACP quiet from August-November... not a bad deal if you ask me.

Doesn't stop the "Media Elite", (you know the folks that have the power to convince most of the viewing public), from running anti-candidate pieces(Def. Anti-Republican pieces).
